Great Bay Masters, Saturday December 11 at Bentley College

Great Bay Masters Win 1999 Short Course Meters Championship!

The Great Bay Masters swimmers scored the highest point total in the history of the New England Masters Short Course Meters Championship on December 11-12, running away from a 50-team field to capture the title at Bentley College.  GBM amassed 3207 points, which was nearly 1500 more than runner up Cambridge Masters (1761).  The Minuteman Masters were third with 653 points.

GBM fielded 58 swimmers for the contest, ranging in age from 19 (Caitlin Thomas and Katie McMahon) to 75 (Barbara Boley).  GBM owes a great deal of its success to a great sense of group spirit and camaraderie.  A number of Great Bay Masters swam in their first swimming competition ever at the Bentley meet.
