The Structure and Function of GBM
Great Bay Masters Swimming, Inc (GBM) is a registered club of U.S. Masters Swimming (USMS) a national, membership-operated, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization of over 65,000 members across the country.
To support all of these members USMS has a CEO and small office staff supported by a huge group of volunteer board members, committees members and Local Masters Swimming Committees (LMSC).
GBM is a club in the New England LMSC.
The New England LMSC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit subordinate of USMS that serves as USMS’s regional governing and administrative body, meaning it handles registration, sanctioning, officiating and other such matters in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
